About

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS | SF

Taking It To The Streets SF empowers homeless youth to lead better lives by providing a continuum of workforce readiness, job skills training, personal mentoring, safe housing, and other services to support self-sufficiency for youth and young adults ages 18-27.

We work with youth who are ready to turn their lives around and get off the streets for good. We are in the game of ending chronic homelessness before it begins.

Our young people demonstrate a commitment to themselves and to their community by cleaning up the Haight Ashbury and Cole Valley neighborhoods, providing street sweeping and graffiti abatement. In turn, they receive the support they need to attain their life, education, and career goals in order to become independent adults, to regain agency over their future, and to end the cycle of homelessness.

Our organization is a hub for open dialogue between housed and un-housed residents and the merchant community -- working together to create a more connected, cleaner, safer, and sustainable community.
